Top 10 First Watches of 2023 - Mudville at the Movies #1
Nolan and Toney kick off the new show and new year with a special episode: Our 10 favorite first watches of 2023. #37 - Heard She Got Murdered (with Matt Farley of Motern Media)
It's Motern season on Mudville once again, and we're honored to have Matt Farley stop by to answer questions about his new film, Heard She Got Murdered, the unforgettable Boston Johnny, and Motern Media's upcoming slate in 2024 and beyond! We get into Farley/Roxburgh's artistic evolution, incidental metaphors, Hong Sang-soo comparisons, Local Legends as an alternative to Tiny Furniture & Frances Ha, the desecration of the Red Sox, Cade Cunningham's Zen era, and the inherent comedy behind press conferences. Plus, whatever happened to Tom Brady's stand up career?
-
#36 - Moneybagg Sho (with Toney Brown)
Shohei Ohtani made $700 million, or at least he will by the end of 2034, and Toney Brown is back to help us break it all down. We promote Nolan and Toney's upcoming film-based series and ask some of the tough questions, like "Is Sam Kennedy ruining the Red Sox?," "Are the Rays bad for baseball?," "Should bad teams be relegated?," and "Why does every free agency controversy involve a Shark Tank billionaire?," before our recording tragically cuts out and we lose 30 min of conversation. Devastated to have to cut this one short but we hope you enjoy!

Tommy Friggin' Cutlets - SBNY #8
The boys are firing through it today, we've got Ohtani news, Tommy Devito and Zach Wilson had some big games and the knicks drop a brutal one in Utah.

Our good pal Lance stops by for a marathon episode! We break down Juan Soto being traded to the New York Yankees and what it means for the Bronx, the Padres, Major League Baseball, Brian Cashman, and us. Then, we review Ridley Scott's new film Napoleon starring Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby. Nolan compares Ridley to a retired NBA small forward. Which is it? Tune in to find out.
The Mudville Origin
Brody Staub and Nolan Rabine were college roommates who moved to Brooklyn and started a podcast. Stop me if you’ve heard that before.
They met on their second day at Ithaca College in 2016 when Gary Sanchez continued his amazing home run streak in the first inning of a game against the Mariners. Brody and Nolan found out that they were the only two people who cared in the packed freshman lounge and have been friends ever since.
They have brought some friends along on this journey to bring you the best podcast on the market that explores both baseball and cinema and the enigmatic link betwixt them.
